In this Fluid Conversation we speak to Octavio Viñoly our Sales Manager for Europe. Octavio, who has been with the business for more than two years, holds an MBA and Mechanical Engineering degree, and boasts more than 20 years of experience in the sale of mechanical components, HVAC and refrigeration.

What attracted you to Kilfrost?
A few things really jumped out at me. First, the fact that Kilfrost has been around for so long was a big plus as that longevity is a huge sign of strength and stability. But what really sealed the deal for me was the company’s push for greener products. I wanted to work for a company that was actively moving towards environmentally responsible solutions, not just talking about it. That forward-thinking attitude is really what drew me in.
What does a typical week look like / What does your role entail?
My week is never boring! As the Sales Manager for Europe, I’m essentially the link between Kilfrost and our clients across the continent. A lot of my time is spent talking to our key customers and distributors, making sure we’re supporting them to the fullest extent and spotting new growth areas.
I’m also heavily involved in strategic planning. This includes looking at market data, seeing where we can be smarter, and figuring out how to successfully launch our latest, most sustainable fluids into new markets.
My role is really about balancing relationships with strategy.
What do you want to achieve in your role?
My goal is pretty straightforward: I want to make Kilfrost the absolute go-to leader in Europe for high-performance, environmentally friendly fluids. I’m especially focused on driving the adoption of our green portfolio.
I want to grow our team and our network so effectively that when any European client thinks about safety and sustainability in this space, Kilfrost is the first name that comes to mind. I want to build something that lasts.
Where do you see the future of Kilfrost?
I genuinely believe the future of Kilfrost is incredibly bright, and it’s all tied to our green innovation. The world is demanding safer, more sustainable products, and we are perfectly positioned to meet that need.
I see us constantly launching even better, cutting-edge fluids and solidifying our reputation not just as a reliable supplier, but as an environmental thought leader in the industry.
We’re not just keeping up; we’re setting the pace.
What do you enjoy most about working at Kilfrost?
The best part is feeling like you’re doing meaningful work for the planet with a company that truly values that. I enjoy knowing that I’m selling products that are technically superior and better for the planet. It’s rewarding to be able to talk about the quality of the company while also promoting a crucial move towards sustainability.
I also love the challenge of the European market; every country is different.
What personal achievement do you want to fulfil before the end of the year?
To sign a contract with a potential new distributor and have the approval of new cutting-edge products. It’s all very exciting!
What hobbies do you have?
Nothing fancy. I like to stay healthy and to spend quality time with my wife and kids. Drawing, reading and walks in the forest, any time of the year, also gives me plenty of pleasure.
Most memorable moment at Kilfrost?
I couldn’t pick one specific moment – I always cherish the opportunity to see so many different places around Europe and meeting all kinds of people. It’s truly a privilege!
