The Cooltrans range comprises high-performance, multi-component, inhibited glycol-based heat transfer fluids designed for secondary refrigerant applications in both process and space cooling, as well as temperature regulation. Developed for reliability in demanding environments, Cooltrans fluids offer exceptional resistance to degradation, scale formation, bacterial growth and corrosion.

 

Each Cooltrans formulation is tested to, and exceeds, the ASTM D1384-05 corrosion test standard, providing outstanding freeze protection, cleaner circuits, efficient heat transfer and measurable long-term cost benefits in system maintenance.

Advanced formulation

Formulated using patented Organic Acid Technology (OAT), Cooltrans fluids are free from amines, phosphates, nitrites, silicates, borax, and molybdenites, and contain no additives classified as CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic to reproduction). They also incorporate a proprietary blend of biocide preservatives to inhibit biological growth. When introduced into a clean system, they prevent fouling of internal heat exchange surfaces, preserve thermal efficiency and reduce system downtime.

Cooltrans represents Kilfrost’s first generation of heat transfer fluids based on mono ethylene glycol (MEG) and mono propylene glycol (MPG). These materials have been trusted in the industry for many years thanks to their proven thermal performance and stability.
