DP705 Multipurpose Deicing Agent

A low viscosity deicer formulated for rail

DP705 is a multipurpose deicer with a low viscosity fluid, formulated to work into the ice and snow and deice contamination. It is used trackside on points and switches to remove fixed ice and compacted snow contamination, resulting in the rails being ready for operation or maintenance.

Applying DP705 Multipurpose Deicer

Point work/point rodding for rail and third rail

Spray DP705 Multipurpose Deicing Agent to the nip between the switch rails and stock rails or to crossing flange ways. Do not apply it to the rail head. Apply the material until the snow is melted and then thoroughly re-wet the area with DP705 Multipurpose Deicing Agent.

Faster clearance is achieved if the snow is first swept off down to the rail head level. Where deicing has taken place, take care to ensure that the slide chairs are kept adequately lubricated; DP705 Multipurpose Deicing Agent is not a lubricant.

Coil springs/suspension and buffers

Spray DP705 Multipurpose Deicing Agent onto the coil springs, suspension and buffers to deice the contamination. For the best results, scape off as much snow and ice as possible prior to deicing with DP705 Multipurpose Deicing Agent.

Body side air filters/radiator grilles on diesel trains

Spray DP705 Multipurpose Deicing Agent into the body side air filters or radiator grilles to deice packed snow contamination to prevent engines overheating or cooling air restriction. For best results, scape off as much snow and ice as possible prior to deicing.

Toilet treatment

Pour 500 millilitres of DP705 Multipurpose Deicing Agent into each toilet pan.
